Sweet Water gets two more wins

Sweet Water took two out of three last week during the second week of the season.
The Bulldogs (3-2) earned a hard-fought win over University Charter 4-3 followed by an 11-5 win over Clarke County on Saturday. They fell to Blacksher 11-2 on Monday.
The Bulldogs return to action this week at home against Fruitdale on Thursday, at T.R. Miller on Saturday before playing Marengo on Monday and Tuesday.
Sweet Water 4, University Charter 3
The Sweet Water baseball team rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat University Charter on Saturday.
After allowing two runs in the first inning and one run in the third inning, the Bulldogs got a run in the third inning despite Sammie Walker grounding into a double play with the bases loaded. Efrain Cardenas scored to cut the lead to 3-1.
Sweet Water got three runs on the bottom of the sixth innings with only one hit. After a single and two batters being hit by a pitch, the Bulldogs scored runs on a four-pitch walk, a full-count walk and another batter being hit by a pitch.
D.J. Lucy then came on and earned the save for the Bulldogs with a strikeout in the final inning.
Sammie Walker earned the win in five and two-thirds innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Aiden Brown closed out the sixth inning striking out his only batter.
Sweet Water had only four hits in the win. Bradyn Norris had double while Tim Kelley, Walker and Evan Dunn had singles.
Maitland Morgan, Cardenas and Lucy all drove in runs on the two walks and hit by pitch.
Sweet Water 11, Clarke County 5
The Bulldogs took advantage of nine errors and eight hits to pull away from Clarke County.
The Bulldogs scored two runs in the first, three runs in the third inning and two runs each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
After allowing five runs through three innings, the Sweet Water pitchers didn’t allow a run in the last four innings.
Evan Dunn earned the win, pitching three scoreless innings with only one hit and four strikeouts. Gage Megginson opened the game allowing five runs on two hits and four walks with four strikeouts. Only one run was earned.
Aiden Brown closed out the final inning with a strikeout and a walk.
Sammie Walker was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Tim Kelley, Evan Dunn, Bradyn Norris and E.J. Lucy all singled. Kelley and DJ Lucy each had two stolen bases. EJ Lucy also had two RBIs.
Sweet Water 2, Blacksher 11
Three errors led to six unearned runs in the loss for the Bulldogs. Blacksher had nine runs in the fourth inning that proved to be the difference.
Jordan McManus led the Bulldogs with a 2-for-2 effort while Tim Kelley and Efrain Cardenas had the other hits.
Jackson Glass took the loss, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in three innings. Two of the runs were unearned.
Brendan Hill pitched two innings allowing five runs on one hit and three walks with a strikeout.
Brayden Dunn pitched a perfect sixth inning.
