Thursday, March 6

  • The Whitfield Regional Auxiliary is hosting a Jewelry Show on March 6, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise funds for hospital equipment and scholarships. Entry is $5. All major credit cards are accepted. The event will be held in the “New Classroom” at Whitfield Regional Hospital. “It’s $5 shopping euphoria for a great cause!”

Saturday March 8

  • The Blackbelt Community Foundation and the Marengo Community Associates are holding a FREE colorectal cancer screening event at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center in Demopolis. 10:00 a.m. until noon. There will also be a presentation by Dr. Remona Peterson. For more information, contact Edward Oates at 908-310-8899.

 

Tuesday March 11

  • The Marengo County School Board will hold a work session on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The work session will begin promptly at 4:00 PM in the boardroom on the second floor of the Marengo County Office Building.
  • The Demopolis Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2025 Citizens’ Police Academy. This is the DPD’s opportunity to give citizens a hands-on insight to what they do every day. The first class of 2025 begins on March 11 at 5:30 p.m. and will be every Tuesday thereafter for three months. Applications may be picked up at the front desk of the Police Department and be available until the class limit (15) is full.

 

Thursday, March 20

  • The Marengo County School Board will hold a board meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The meeting will begin promptly at 4 p.m. in the boardroom on the second floor of the Marengo County Office Building.
