DCS honored as a Spotlight of Reading District

Demopolis City Schools has been honored as a Spotlight of Reading District for the State of Alabama, celebrating the outstanding achievements in literacy at U.S. Jones Elementary and Westside Elementary.

On Monday, DCS proudly hosted surrounding school districts for a Spotlight of Reading visit, led by ARI Regional Specialist Traci Howard and ARI Regional Coach Robin Lee.

Derrick Hester, Curriculum Coordinator, alongside the principals and reading coaches from both elementary schools, shared the district’s success story of implementing the science of reading through effective data days and comprehensive district support.
