Bulldogs get win over 4A Jackson

The Sweet Water Bulldogs were able to add one win last week with an 8-3 win over Jackson.
However, Jackson returned the favor on Monday winning 8-6 after the Bulldogs lost to Demopolis on Friday.
The Bulldogs will play Choctaw County on Thursday at 4 p.m. before traveling to Excel on Monday and hosting Thomasville on Tuesday.
Sweet Water 8, Jackson 3
The Bulldogs collected 11 hits to get the big win on the road. Sweet Water did its damage in the fifth and seventh innings, scoring four and three runs respectively after getting on the board in the fourth inning with a run.
Jackson only managed one run in each of the first, fourth and fifth innings.
Evan Dunn and Bradyn Norris led the way with three hits each. Dunn had a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.
DJ Lucy added a double with an RBI while Tim Kelley, Sammie Walker, Nate Norris and Jordan McManus also had singles.
McManus took the win with five strikeouts over six innings of work. He allowed three runs on eight hits with no walks.
Aiden Brown closed out the game with scoreless seventh inning allowing only one hit.

The Bulldogs had five errors leading to four unearned runs that proved to be the difference in the win.
Evan Dunn tried to help his own cause by going 3-for-4 with two RBI, a double and a run scored. Bradyn Norris added a single and a double with an RBI. Sammie Walker added a double while Brayden Dunn and DJ Lucy also added hits.
Evan Dunn took the loss allowing four earned runs on 11 hits with two walks and three strikeouts in five and one-third innings. Jackson Glass struck out one of hits four batters faced. Aiden Brown had a strikeout in one inning of work.
