Thursday, March 20

  • The Marengo County School Board will hold a board meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The meeting will begin promptly at 4 p.m. in the boardroom on the second floor of the Marengo County Office Building.
  • Join West Central Alabama Area Health Education for a Community Health Worker-Led Support Group Meeting designed to provide support, resources, and meaningful discussions on health and well-being. This gathering is open to community members seeking guidance, shared experiences, and encouragement from trained health workers who understand the challenges of navigating health concerns. Our first topic is mental health. It will be held Thursday March 20, at 6 p.m. at the Theo Ratliff Community Center,  306 1st Ave, Demopolis. Help West Central Alabama AHEC improve mental health resources in Hale, Marengo and Perry Counties. Our Community Health workers (CHWs) are gathering valuable insights to better support mental health needs in our community. Your feedback is important.   • WCCS Demopollis Campus will have an Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1701 Hwy 43 South, Demopolis. During the event, you can take a campus tour and obtain information on academics, technical and short-term programs.

  • Marengo County Veterans’ Town Hall, at 70 Essex Drive, Demopolis, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs and Essex Veterans’ Center invite veterans and their families to attend. Saturday, April 26

  • The Whitfield Foundation invites you to swing into action at the Big Dill Pickleball Tournament on April 26 at Demopolis Country Club! Your participation helps support patient-related costs. For players, your ticket includes a T-shirt, soft drinks/water, and snacks, plus heavy hors d’oeuvres at the After Party. Players will automatically be entered for a chance to win a pickleball-themed gift basket. There will be chances to win gift baskets for $20 for both players and spectators.   • 2025 Blackbelt WOW 2.0 and I.G.N.I.T.E. Summer Job Fair, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Livingston Civic Center, 101 Country Club Rd, Livingston. WOW 2.0 is for high school seniors interested in interviewing for full and part-time jobs. At the completion of the interview, companies can offer students contingent on the spot job offers. IGNITE is a great opportunity for rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who are interested in part-time, apprenticeship or summer jobs. Companies will offer contingent on the spot job offers to students.
