Demopolis gets top 10 finishes at King of the West meet

The Demopolis boys and girls track teams came away from the King of the West meet at Central-Tuscaloosa on Saturday with top 10 finishes.

The girls came in sixth overall while the boys were seventh overall. 

The girls had a couple of top-three finishes. The 4×400-meter relay team took first place with a time of 4:26.09.

Mariah James was second in the 300-meter hurdles finishing 0.52 behind the first place time of 49.50. Zaireonna Kirk was second in the girls 800 meters. Ambraysa Howard was third in the 100 meters.

Haley Stacey also had a fourth place finish in the javelin while Arri Freeman was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Aniya Tensley also had a fourth place in the 800 meters.

Jakohri Johnson had an eight-foot lead over everyone else in the boys discus throw, as he took first place with a 142-foot, one-inch throw. The Demopolis 4×800-meter relay took third place.
