- Fairview Missionary Baptist Church located at 2975 Tuscahoma Road in Butler (Mt. Sterling) will have its spring revival services at 7:15 p.m. nightly through April 23. The the is “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation: and uphold me with the free spirit.” -Psalm 51:12. Guest Evangelist is Pastor Floyd Charleston, Pastor of Wisdom Primitive Baptist Church in Sweet Water. The Rev. Wendell Charleston is the host pastor. Sis. JoAnne Duff is the church clerk.
- The Bethel Pine Baptist Church, 796 Sumter 22, Coatopa, will be hosting a Community Spring Bake Off Competition on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. Judging criteria: taste, appearance, and texture. - A free dental clinic will be held Saturday, April 26, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fairheaven Baptist Church, 1054 Cardinal St. in Demopolis.
- Gospel Explosion 2025 will be Saturday, April 26, at 5 p.m. at the Mars Hill Family Life Center. Featured groups include Johnson Brothers, Golden Voices and many more. The emcee will be Bro. Mario Tucker of Mt. Carmel Church in Duncanville. Free admission. The Rev. Nathaniel Carter is pastor.
- The members and congregation of the Morning Star Baptist Church will be celebrating the Rev. LaKendrick Howard and family during the Pastor’s Installation on Sunday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. The Guest Speaker will be the Rev. Carlton Hogue, New Greater First Baptist Church in Thomasville. Come one, come all and celebrate with this pastor and family and welcome them to the big city of Demopolis.
- Pastor Wendell Charleston and the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church family request the presence of all churches to help them celebrate 153 years of serving the Lord on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Frank Charleston, pastor of Christ Bless Church in Demopolis, will be the guest speaker. All pastors, choirs and churches are invited. The theme is “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead…” Colossians 1:18.
- Big Brother’s Productions, celebrating 27 years, presents the 10th annual Pre-Mothers Day Gospel Fest Sunday, May 4, at the Thomasville Civic Center. - DATE CHANGE: The Love Program for “Absolutely” John E. Owens Jr. and Evangelist Millicent Cunningham Owens featuring The Alabama Sledgehammer, American’s undisputed boss man of gospel music on WNNJ-106.5 FM, will be Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at the Theo Ratcliff Activity Center. - The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a federal food program that is designed to improve the health of senior citizens. CSFP Registration Day coming soon at Mt. Olive AME Zion Church in Duncanville. Food for the program is provided by the United States Department of Agriculture’s agency of Food and Nutrition Service. To register for the CSFP Program you must have the following items: Proof of age (Current Alabama Driver’s License), Proof of residency (Current Utility Bill or Current Lease), Report total gross Income (BEFORE DEDUCTIONS) for EACH member in the household.
