Betty Ann Smyly of Linden, AL died May 3, at her home. She was born February 20, 1938 in Thomaston, to Wiley Braxton and Louise Dixon Schroder Sammons. She was a stockyard clerk and a member of Linden Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, James Payton Smyly, Jr. and Steven Craig Smyly; daughters, Cheryl Smyly Miller, Jennifer Camille Smyly, and Patricia Smyly Pritchett; brothers, Robert Sammons, Gene Sammons, Billy Wayne Sammons, and Jimmy Sammons; nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Payton Smyly.

Funeral services were held at Linden Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 6, at 2:00 pm with Dr. Chris Kynard officiating. Burial followed at Linden Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers were Jerry Smyly, Chase Smyly, Matt Pritchett, Philip Neal, Evan Fuqua, Nick McIlwain, Ross O’Rear, and Matt Carlisle.
