Students learned about their important roles in America’s future thanks to an immersive experience in civics, character, financial literacy, and social studies. In the closing piece of the program, students apply those crucial lessons in the real world. They chose heroes who embodied the traits of amazing citizens and read essays before presenting them with an Authentic Liberty Replicas & Liberty Pins.

Marengo County and Linden students gathered together for similar programs, and Demopolis middle schoolers also participated in a “Good Characters Expo” to share service projects with community members, mentors and peers.

After weeks in the American Character Program, learning about historical figures who transformed America, they were then challenged to begin transforming things themselves.

Speaking to guests, students shared how they formed groups, identified problems, worked with local mentors and began taking action. They gained real-world practice in collaboration, service, empathy, compassion and communication.

“It was a proud moment for our Liberty Learning team as we saw first-hand how our 2nd and 5th grade programs had paved the way for these middle schoolers to take ownership in their roles as citizens. Their ideas, ingenuity and determination showed us that America’s future is in good hands!” said Tawanna Vickers, Program Director of Liberty Learning Foundation Inc.

The immersive educational experience is made possible through local and state sponsors.
Liberty Learning Foundation is a non-profit organization facilitating active civics and character programs in K-12 classrooms and orchestrating immersive events that empower schools, parents, local leaders, and businesses to take ownership of the future of the community and country.

The Super Citizen Program engages students in learning crucial lessons in civics, character, financial responsibility, career building and the American story. Through grants and donations, Liberty Learning Foundation donates free tool kits to teachers and orchestrates performances that increase understanding and retention of concepts.
