Joel Frederick “Squirrel” Snodgrass

Joel Frederick “Squirrel” Snodgrass age 86, a truck driver, of Uniontown, AL died May 6, 2025 at his home.  He was born May 30, 1938 in Marengo County, AL to Claudy G. Snodgrass, Jr. and Winnie B. Jordan Snodgrass.  He attended Uniontown Church of God.

He is survived by his son, Billy Joe Snodgrass; stepson, Fred Vaughan, Jr. (Vicky Stoudenmire); daughters, June Alice Bray and Linda Maxine Nichols; stepdaughters, Dana Mayo (Danny) and Debbie Longcrier (Bruce); brothers, Grey Snodgrass, Amos Snodgrass, and Raymond Brodrick; sisters, Melissa Averette, Cathy Johnson, Rebecca Lynn, and JoAnn Smith; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and six step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Snodgrass.

Graveside funeral services were held at Hoboken Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Rev. William Moor officiating. 

Active pallbearers were William Bray, Joel Bray, Charles Nichols, Jerald Abbott, James Smith, and Heath Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Averette, Time Snodgrass, Norman Averette, and Chase Mayo.
