The Celebration of Life Service for Terri Dee Speegle will be held Tuesday, May 20 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Demopolis, officiated by Bro. Rex Kent and Bro. Carl Williams. Internment to follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens.
Theresa (Terri ) Dee Speegle, 57, of Demopolis, Alabama, passed away May 11, 2025. Born on August 5, 1967, in Opp, Alabama. She graduated from Opp High School in 1985 and then went on to graduate from Troy University with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She obtained her Masters in Education from Livingston University in 1992. Terri dedicated 31 years to teaching elementary school, where she touched the lives of countless students with her compassion, patience, and joy for learning.
Terri was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She married the love of her life, Tony, June 10, 1989, and together they raised two children. Her family was the center of her world and she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.
Terri is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tony Speegle; her children, Shelby James Speegle (Kristy) and Susanna Dee Speegle; her grandchildren, Clifton James Speegle, John Luker Speegle, William Shelby Speegle, David Smith Speegle and Rory Martin Speegle; her mother, Susan Eiland Dee, her brother John Shelby Dee, Jr. (Chasity). 7 Nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her father, John Shelby Dee.
Terri loved serving her community. She enjoyed making heirloom children’s clothes for friends and family, mentoring young teachers, attending First Baptist Church of Demopolis and freely serving on committees when asked. She dedicated time to serving on the Board and the Grants Committee of the Demopolis City Schools Foundation. To honor her passion for education, the family has established a grant through the Demopolis City Schools Foundation in her memory, the “Terri Speegle Classroom Innovation Grant” for K-2nd grade. Any donations to the grant can be made directly to the foundation through their website in her memory.
Active pallbearers were Copeland Wood, Trey Eiland, Parker Eiland, Dylan Dee, John Tyler Dee, and Leslie Wood.
Honorary pallbearers were Luke Hallmark, Bill Wood, Skip Eiland, Clifton McKnight, Jim Stanford, and Calvin Speegle.
