Ronnie Milton Phillips, 72, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at home in North Pole, Alaska surrounded by family on April 16, 2025.  Ron was a 20-year Air Force Retiree, 100% Disabled Veteran, and Alaska resident since 1982.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon and their four children, Christina, Jeremy, Marcus, and Stephanie and spouses: plus 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many extended family members in various southern states.  Ron was preceded in death by grandparents:  Alec, Erma, G.W., Annie Bea; parents, Roy & Velma; older sisters, Opal, Gail & spouse Wes; nephews, Michael & Tony, plus many aunts, uncles and loved ones.

Born in Fulton, Alabama, on November 10, 1952, Ron attended early school at the old Demopolis Public School, with most of his schooling and graduation taking place in Thomasville, Alabama (being raised in Sand Flats).  Alaska family and friends held both Memorial and Celebration of Life events on April 26th, followed by an official military burial with honors at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery in Alaska on April 28th.  Please read over Ron’s more detailed obituary and watch a brief slideshow at Obituary for Ronnie Phillips | Blanchard Family Funeral Home.

Family members are holding a Celebration of Life for extended family and friends who knew Ron in some capacity between 2-4 pm on Saturday, May 31st at First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis – 300 N Strawberry St., Demopolis, Alabama.  A more extensive slideshow of Ron’s amazing experiences and life will be shared at this event.  This wonderful southern gentleman did much for the good of others and was loved by many.  Ron is probably already at work in heaven whether it be “volunteering” or “voluntold” as the Lord needs good soldiers and dedicated workers to do his bidding.  For more information, please reach Sharon at 337-303-2278.
