Edward Joseph Polifka Sr.
Edward Joseph Polifka Sr., 75, of Forkland passed away June 8, 2016, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Polifka was born Feb. 24, 1941, in White Law, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Anita Werner Polifka.
Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2 p.m., at Forkland United Methodist Church with Pastor Kenny Overstreet officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Phillips Cemetery in Forkland.
Mr. Polifka was preceded by his parents; wife of 30 years, Vera Mae Jones Polifka; brothers, Francis Polifka and Raymond Polifka; sister, Maryann Freidenberger.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Butler (Tony) of Charleston, South Carolina; son, Edward Joseph “Joby” Polifka (Kim) of Tuscaloosa; sister, Evelyn Yanda of Manitowac, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Monique Felder, Kristine Polifka, Duran Butler, Shawn Butler, Danielle Butler, Daniel Polifka, Trent Pierce and Tanner Pierce; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Linda Thomas; and countless friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Gary Phillips, Morris Allen, Roy Jines, Louis Jines, Duran Butler and Trent Pierce. Honorary pallbearers are Joel Coley and Doug Shearer.
