Published 6:57pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Demopolis High School will hold its Homecoming festivities this week, culminating with Friday evening’s home football game against Brookwood.

The freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors of DHS, as well as various clubs and groups, will be working on their respective floats throughout the week in preparation for Friday’s Homecoming parade.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, just an hour after all Demopolis City Schools let out at noon.

The Demopolis High School Student Government Association is inviting community members to take part in the parade.

Interested parties may sign-up to participate by obtaining a copy of the parade registration form from the Demopolis High School office. The entry fee for the event is $10. The theme for this year’s parade is “Life’s a Beach.”

All parade entries must be completed and turned in by 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Homecoming festivities will kick off Thursday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. with the pep rally and bonfire that will take place behind Demopolis High School. The evening of the game, senior football players, cheerleaders and band members will be honored before the game at 6:30 p.m., leading into traditional pre-game ceremonies at 6:45. The Homecoming queen and her court will be presented at halftime of the game.
