Thomas Edward Richards, 37, of Pondville died March 4. Born Aug. 8, 1974 in Selma to Mayfield Jefferson and Laura Sue Thomas Richards, he was preceded in death by an infant baby sister, grandfather Papa Werdna Thomas, grandmother Helen H. Thomas, grandfather Jeff Richards, grandmother Evie Lou Richards and a beloved brother-in-law: Wayne Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Richards of Pondville, daughter Holly Erin Richards of Greensboro, mother and father Mayfield and Sue Richards of Greensboro, brother William (Melanie) Richards of Pondville, sister Laurie Ann (Eddie) Pierce of Marion, stepchildren Kayla and Ricky Hanks and nieces Victoria, Breanna and Gabrielle Richards.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Greensboro with Rev. Tom Stricklin officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.

Pallbearers Kim Rinehart, Larry Cook, Donnie Farmer, Richard Farmer, Marty Farmer and Kent Ellingburg.

Edward will be missed greatly by his family and his friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your church or the charity of one’s choice.
