Gayle Williamon

Gayle Williamon, 79, of Gardendale and former resident of Linden, died Thursday, Dec. 6 at UAB Hospital.

She was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Boaz. She was a member of Linden United Methodist Church and an avid University of Alabama fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert D. “Doc” Williamon and her parents, Alvin and Marion V. Harris.

She is survived by her son, Robert D. “Bobby” (Donna) Williamon Jr. of Mt. Olive; her daughter, Donna Gayle (Pete) Ellis of Atlanta; brothers, Alvin (Ann) Harris of Birmingham and Christopher Harris of Jacksonville; nephews, Stephen (Holly) Harris and David (Brenda) Harris; niece, Jennifer (Lance) Russell; great-nephews and great-niece Blake, Tyler and Hannah Harris; great-nephews, Kamryn and Jacob Harris and Luke and Charlie Russell.

Funeral services were held at Linden United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. with Wade Drinkard and the Rev. Ed Shirley officiating. Burial was held at Linden Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers were Rob Renner, Kent Hale, Paul Etheredge, Steven Harris, David Harris and David Gaddy.

Honorary pallbearer was Brooks Davis.
