John Eric Pearson Jr., 18, of Myrtlewood died Tuesday, March 5 in Demopolis.

He was born Aug. 28, 1994, in Meridian, Miss. He was a full-time student at the University of West Alabama and attended Forest Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bobby Pearson.

He is survived by his father, John E. Pearson Sr., of Myrtlewood; mother, Sandra Sansing Pearson of Myrtlewood; brothers, James and Steven Pearson, both of Myrtlewood; grandmother, Reba Pearson of Pine Hill; and grandparents, Madge and Billy Sansing of Myrtlewood.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dunford Cole and the Rev. Myrtle Carney officiating. Burial was at Independence Cemetery in Sunny South.

Pallbearers were Matthew Cannon, Lane Averette, John Ross Morton, Joe Don Miles, Jacob Dunn, Nick Phillips, Dustin Smith and Cole Collins.
