The Demopolis High School golf team improved to 23-0 Monday night in a five-team match at Jackson.
The Tigers defeated Jackson, Leroy, Thomasvile and Washington County.
The low medalist for the Tigers in the match was Jordan Williams, who shot a 39. Last week, Demopolis defeated Washington County by just two strokes, but Monday, they defeated the Bulldogs by a 25-stroke margin.
Other Demopolis golfers scored well in the match as well. Payne Hasty shot a 40, Braiden Spiller shot a 41, Chandler Steudeman shot a 42 and Mark Joseph Johnson shot a 43.
The Citronelle and Jackson County girls teams, along with Demopolis’ Anna Reid competed in a match as well, and Reid was the low medalist, winning the match for Demopolis.
DHS will match its 26-0 record from last season if they can win their match Thursday against Fayette County, Leroy and Washington County at The Ravine. They will finish the season on April 22 and April 25 with matches against Thomasville before heading to Chilton County for Sectionals.
Last season, the Tigers finished third in Sectionals and advanced to sub-state, where they fell short of a bid for state.
