Dora Ellen Simpson Allgood, 90, of Demopolis, died Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing home.

She was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Jefferson County, to the late David and Clara Majors Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Clara Majors Simpson; husband, Alton Allgood; brothers, Tommy Simpson, Charlie Simpson and Bill Simpson; and sister, Marie Long.

Survivors include her sons, Charles (Angie) Allgood of Dothan, John Roy Allgood of Demopolis, Michael C. (Eloise) Allgood of Ducanville, William W. (Gail) Allgood of Demopolis, and Ralph Allgood of Demopolis; sister, Mary Dunn of Boaz; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Fairhaven Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Stephens and Allen Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers are Ron Williams, Christen Allgood, Shane Allgood, Seth Allgood, Michael Allgood and Tyler Morrison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund for Fairhaven Baptist.
