Bettie Lou Huggins, 90, of Gallion died Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Marengo Nursing Home.

She was born March 15, 1923, in Tulsa, Okla. She was a retired senior economics assistant with the Department of Human Resources and a member of the Linden United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Huggins Sr.; daughter, Jane H. Saylors; and brother, Kenneth Barley.

She is survived by her son; James David Huggins Jr. of Gallion; sister, Geraldine Barley Hurt of Gallion; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at Linden Memorial Park on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Huggins officiating.

Active pallbearers were Chase Jones, Chad Jones, Steve Miller, Tony Jacobs, Kenneth Jacobs and Kevin Jacobs.

Honorary pallbearers were employees and staff of the Marengo Nursing Home.
