Cecil Eugene Overstreet

Cecil Eugene Overstreet, 76, of Linden, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Services were held Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Linden with Rev. Don Newton officiating.

Burial was held in the Green Acres Memorial Cemetery in Brewton under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Overstreet was born in Escambia County. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After leaving the service he operated businesses for four years in Brewton, and then went to work with American Can Co. as an assistant supervisor of converting where he retired.

He attended Forest Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Mae Overstreet of Linden; two sons, Mike (Sybil) Overstreet of Tuscaloosa; and Larry (Katie) Overstreet of Collinsville, Miss., one daughter, Kay (Mike) Barrow of Centry, Fla.; a sister, Celia murphy of East Brewton; a brother, Lige Earl Overstreet of East Brewton; a grandson, Lee Overstreet of Tuscaloosa; two granddaughters, Ashley Overstreet of Collinsville, Miss. and Kaitlyn Barrow of Centry, Fla.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Ed Vines, Dale Barger, Claude Perry, Danny Schroeder, Stephen King and Julian Scott.
