Marie Allday Davis, 82, of Demopolis, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home.

Services were held Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Indianola, Miss. with Dr. B.J. Barrett officiating.

Burial was held in the Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Card Funeral Home in Indianola and Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors in Demopolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. Allday and Elizabeth James Allday.

She is survived by her husband, James Cleveland Davis Sr. of Demopolis; a daughter, Barbara Davis (Denny) Goodwin of Demopolis; a son, James C. (Martha) Davis Jr. of Atlanta; two brothers, M.L. "Pete" (Mildred) Alday of Eupora, Miss. and George A. (Florence) Allday of Gore Springs, Miss.; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Lori) Goodwin, Amy Gamble (Jon), Lauren Davis, and Austin Davis; one great-grandchild, Helen Marie Goodwin.
