Leon E. Birdwell, 74, of Gallion, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Kidd-Robbins Chapel in Demopolis with Doug Null officiating.

Burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.

He is survived by his wife, Clara H. Birdwell of Gallion; a daughter, Donna Faye Hollingsworth of Demopolis; two sons, Milton Birdwell of Houston, Tx., and Robert L. Birdwell Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Jean Stuart of Pascagula, Miss. and Louise Pickett of Alto, Tx.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Rodney Skidmore, Gifford Young, Tim Williams, William Large, Buckey Dailey and Calvin Lowe.

Flowers or donations may be sent in his name to a favorite charity.
