The Demopolis Academy Generals baseball team defeated Marion Military Institute 17-7 Tuesday afternoon at the Demopolis SportsPlex.
The defending state champion Generals are 3-8 for the season. "We’ve struggled," the coach said. "We spent a lot of time early in the season where we had just about all of our seniors out with either injuries or sickness.
Standouts for the team early in the season have been Kevin May, "he’s been solid for us for several years," Shane Hilchey, and "Andy Lowe just got back…from a broken hand. It’s ice to have him back in center field."
The biggest surprise has been Chad Seales in his first year with the Generals. "He’s hitting the ball real well," Reynolds said.
