Ellen Morris Dupree

Ellen Morris Dupree, 91, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at East Pavilion.

Graveside services were held Thursday, September 4, 2003, in the Poplar Spring Cemetery with Rev. Linda S. Alvis of High Street United Methodist Church and Rev. James W. Browder III of St. Luke Episcopal Church officiating

She was a member of the Franklin High Street United Methodist Church, the Louise Pace Matthews Circle and Ladies Sunday School Class. She was a founding member of the Pinecrest Garden Club, a former member of the Franklin Woman’s Club and an avid bridge player.

Mrs. Dupree was a loving wife of the late Charles Allen Dupree.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances M. Simmons.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda D. Rogers (husband Douglas) of Franklin and Mary Ellen Snyder (husband Jim) of Demopolis; four grandchildren, Douglas Rogers III (wife Tammy) of Ocean City, Md., Charles A.D. Rogers of Franklin, Susan S. Berling (husband Matt) of Atlanta, Ga. and Amanda Snyder of Chapel Hill, N.C.

Kimbrough C. Dunn

Thomasville

Kimbrough C. Dunn, 83, of Thomasville, died Thursday, September 4, 2003, at the Mobile Infirmary.

Services were held Saturday, September 6, 2003, at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Dr. Gary Enfinger and Rev. Paul Earley.

Burial was held in the Choctaw Comer Cemetery under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.

He was an area sales manager with the Woodmen of the World Insurance Society and was the number one area manager for WOW in 1984.

Mr. Dunn was an veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Thomasville Baptist Church, the Oliver Lodge #334 F&AM, past commander and chief of American Legion Post 12 of Thomasville, a past member of the Thomasville Civitan Club, and he served in the Alabama State Legislature as a representative for Clarke County.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Dunn of Thomasville; two daughters, Debra Lynn Dunn O’Neal of Monticello, Miss. and Ruth Adelle Dunn Sweat of Lilburn, Ga.; a son, Kim Nowell Dunn of Duluth, Ga.; a brother, Dale Dunn of Selma; two granddaughters, Jenny Travis of McCall Creek, Miss. and Sydney Sweat of Lilburn, Ga.; two grandsons, Joseph Kimbrough Sweat and Dylan Sweat, both of Lilburn, Ga.; and a great-granddaughter, Autumn Thornton of McCall Creek, Miss.

Pallbearers were Frank Kight, Clarence Newton, Steve Sweat, Rusty O’Neal, Gary Cooper and Henry Lowery.

Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Dunn, Red Sims, Harrell Blakeney, Walter Glass jr., Wayne Dunn, Bill Harrison, Dick Brantley, Dan Jackson, Ben Dunn Jr. and Charles Ellis Dunn.

Contributions can be sent in his honor to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
