A log truck collided with another truck Monday afternoon south of Linden on Highway 43. The accident between Linden and Dixon Mills at the 110 mile marker caused a traffic jam for some hours as wreckers tried to clear the road of the large trucks.

According to emergency personnel on the scene, a lowboy truck was attempting to back out onto the highway, and the log truck traveling south hit it. The low boy truck was not loaded; however, the log truck was loaded with pine logs.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m., according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

John Edward Frowner, 31, of Walker Springs, Ala. was driving the log truck for T&D Trucking, and Donald Grimes, 30, of Camden was driving the low boy for K.C. Construction.

Both truck cabs received serious damage. However, neither driver was seriously injured, and both remained on the scene.

The Marengo County Sheriff’s Department, State Troopers, county emergency management and the Marengo County Fire and Rescue were among the emergency personnel who responded to the scene.
