First Lady Patsy Riley makes stop at COTR festivities

The First Lady Patsy Riley was on hand for the Christmas on the River’s Christmas in the Canebrake. The evening featured entertainment and a tour at Demopolis’ historic sites, Bluff Hall and Gaineswood Mansion. Riley was guest of honor.
Riley is often recognized for her efforts to restore the Governor’s Mansion to its original grandeur. The executive residence, she says, "is all finished and decorated for the Christmas season."
The mansion, which has been closed for the past two administrations, is now open to the public.
This was not the First Lady’s trip to Demopolis, however her first Christmas on the River. She expressed elation of the festive occasion and admitted to being committed to serving the Alabamian community, particularly in the area of family-related issues.
Her platform is dedicated to a number of social issues, however she sincerely committed to family structure and building. Her personal experiences with her family and religious community continue to motivate her.
