Singles by Lauren Roark and Katie Simmons gave the Lady Tigers the base runners they needed before Brittany Thorne doubled to the right field fence.

With a 2-0 lead, Roark would settle in on the mound and retire the first nine in order.

Demopolis added to their lead in the 3rd inning.

Brittany McGee reached on a hit to center.

She would move to second on a ball hit by Simmons.

Thorne then hit into a fielder’s choice that left runners still at second and third as McGee was out at third.

Simmons would then score on an infield single by India Chancelor.

With Timie Lee batting, Thorne would cross the plate on a wild pitch.

After a Timie Lee walk, Chancelor would score on a double steal that saw the throw be dropped at second.

With a 6-0 lead, the Lady Tigers gave up one run in the 4th inning that started with a defensive miscue and was immediately followed by a stolen base and base hit to score the runner.

However, the Tigers stood tall and allowed a final Jackson run in the 6th inning to make the final margin 6-2.

Lauren Roark(3-1) pitched the complete game three-hitter.

She walked one batter and struck out 14 Lady Aggies to earn the win.

The Tiger Classic that was scheduled for March 6 was cancelled due to the girl’s basketball championship game in Birmingham.

The Lady Tigers next scheduled game is Thursday, March 11, at home against the Tuscaloosa County Lady Wildcats.

The game will be held at the Demopolis Sportsplex at 4:30 p.m.
