A Greensboro man has been arrested for the rape of a 12-year-old juvenile.

Sam Leroy King, 40, of 1211 Ward Street, was arrested March 24 for a count of rape I.

Greensboro Police received a call concerning the incident from the victim’s mother Mary Wilson at approximately 9:59 p.m. on March 24.

King, who police officials described as a friend of the mother, was arrested the same evening.

According officials with the Hale County Jail, the suspect has been released. The amount of his bond was not known at press time.
