Mental health center addresses needs with political leaders
On Friday, West Alabama Mental Health Center was paid a visit by a group of local lawmakers.
State Sen. Charles Steele, State Rep. Bobby Singleton and Marengo County Commissioner Freddie Armstead met with Kelley Parris-Barnes, executive director of West Alabama Mental Health Center, and Patricia Perry-Moore, assistant director of the center. Also present at the meeting were board members Mayor Carolyn Gosa, of Sumter County, and Rita Harless, of Hale County.
The purpose of the meeting was to allow officials of the Mental Health Center to discuss future funding and other mental health related issues facing the five county area with Steele, Singleton and Armstead.
