Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, Interim National President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and Senator Charles Steele Jr. announce a press conference on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Baptist Church, 500 9th Avenue North, Birmingham.

Senator Steele is the Alabama Senator of District 24, the Alabama State President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and the Interim National Vice President of SCLC. Senator Steele recently traveled to Woodville, Mississippi and is deeply troubled by the appearance of a lynching.
