MRS. R.T. Moore celebrates 81st birthday at home with her family

Gaines and Pat Vick joined their friends Grady and Faye Martin of Womack Hill at Delmar’s in Thomasville for dining Friday afternoon.

Maggie Quinney enjoyed having her niece, Ella Turner of Memphis, TN spend Tuesday and Wednesday with her.

Brenda Johnston went to Centreville Saturday and attended the baseball game at Shane Williams Park that her grandsons Kannon and Kyle played in. They then spent Saturday night with Brenda’s mother, Mrs. R.T. Moore and helped and helped her celebrate her 81st birthday with dinner at her home Sunday. Joining them were Ricky and Karen Hubbard, Jodie and Ada Jane Spinks, Josh and Hannah, Casey and Jena Johnston, Layton and Caden, Kay and Chuck Morse. Happy Birthday, R.T.

Trula Vee Quinney went to Lake Martin Thursday to visit her sister, Ilean Price and family and friend Bonnie Grier. Sunday, May 16th, she accompanied her son, Dale and his wife Susan of Matthews, to Birmingham, where they attended their son Brent’s graduation from UAB School of Medicine at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center Concert Hall at 1 PM. Other family members attending were Leigh Quinney, Betty Ellisar, Lynda Harmon, Michael, Kylie, and Robyn. Trula Vee stayed with Ilean until May 17th.

Wynell Stokes spent Thursday and Friday in Pratville visiting Charlotte Lyles and other relatives. They attended a graduation party for Christopher Burge at the home of his mother Joyce and Bart Leswick. Congratulations Christopher!

Pat Dixon underwent exploratory surgery in Birmingham May 4th, she was dismissed May 12th and went to her son Mickey and Anna’s home and convalesced until May 19th when Anna brought her home and visited her and her parents Bill and Pat Drinkard and other relatives until May 21st, when Mickey came for her. They returned to Albertville that night. Please continue to remember her in prayer.

Harold and Bobbie Quinney went to Eufaula Thursday and visited their daughter Paige and Joel Smith, Pierce, Sellers, and Sealy. They enjoyed babysitting the children while their parents attended and participated in a wedding for their friends in Georgia. Harold enjoyed spending some time with his cousin Bill Quinney, while in Eufaula. They returned home Sunday.

Catherine Etheridge Rogers of Gulf Shores arrived Friday for visit with Joan Gibbs and other relatives and friends. Friday night, they attended graduation services for Marengo Academy in which her nephews, Nathan and Nicholas Averette graduated. Saturday, they enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Depot Restaurant with classmates and friends, Marvene Pickard, Jean Thrash, Josephine Kelley, Sybil Pritchett, Peggy Tucker, and Rhee Duke. They visited Ken and Doris Bryant, Doris Henson, Louise Ingram, Claude and Jean Perry, Lynn Dunning and enjoyed reminiscing with many friends. They dined with Don and Jean Thrash at the Del Mar in Thomasville Saturday night. After attending worship services at Providence Baptist Church Sunday morning, Catherine joined Don and Jean Thrash again at the Del Mar for lunch before returning home.

Adolph and Sandra Davis spent Thursday and Friday in Mobile with their son Brooks and Terry Davis, Brandon and Stacie. They attended Brandon’s graduation service May 20th at 7:00PM at the Ervin S. Cooper Stadium. Congratulations Brandon!

Dan and Given McFerrin of Foley spent Wednesday and Thursday with their aunt Maggie Quinney and other relatives.

Muriel Glass entered BWWMH, Demopolis, May 16 and continues to be a patient. Please remember her in prayer.

Gail Smith and Robbie and Margaret Cross attended the Kidsworld Graduation of her granddaughter Chloe Smith at the Opp First Baptist Church, May 20th. Also attending were her father, Michael Smith of Birmingham. Her mother Samantha and Shannon Uzzle, Cecilia Uzzle, her sister and grandparents Lamar and Cathy Morris, all of Opp. Congratulations Chloe!

Sue Wilroy and Mildred Miller visited Buddy and Mavis Ward and Plum Doggett in York Sunday afternoon.

Jimmy and Nan Davis of Sweet Water hosted a family gathering at their home on May 23rd. Many relatives attended Homecoming at Sweet Water Baptist Church and then enjoyed a delicious covered dish meal. Those from this area attending were Sadie Merle Whitcomb, Paul Whitcomb, Margaret Cross, Douglas Tucker, Billy Tucker, James and Caroline Nelson, Gaines and Pat Vick, Cawthon Tucker, Nina Pruitt, and Bubba Tucker.

Andrew Ivey Kilgore of Washington, D.C. arrived May 18th for a visit with his sister Grace Perolio and other relatives and friends. Trula Vee Quinney joined them for a delicious lunch at the Depot Resturaunt on May 24th. He flew back to Washington on May 25th.

Pam Courtney, bride elect of Jason McNeil was the honoree at a bridesmaid luncheon May 22nd at 1:00 PM at the home of Mrs. Bill Scheile with Martha Tucker as co-hostess.

Those attending were Minnie Foxhall, Kay Courtney, Ann McNeil, Linley Allred, Clair Courtney, Tina Christian, and Mikala Thornton. They all enjoyed a meal of turkey breast, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mixed vegetable salad, and assorted sherbets. Pam presented gifts to her bridesmaids and the group made favors to be given at the wedding reception.

Margaret Cross and Gail Smith attended the funeral services for their nephew and cousin Harold Scitz of Collinsville, MS May 22 at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian, MS with the burial in Collinsville. Attending the wake May 21stwere Connie and Eddie Ballas, Mike Cross, Frank Cross, and Gavin Norris, all relatives of the deceased. Providence expresses sympathy to this family.

Olen Davis of Selma, Margaret Crawford and Marie Morris of Shelby, Joe and Emma Crocker of Millbrook and Carolyn Ingram of Molino, FL were Monday dinner guests of Adolph and Sandra Davis.

Wynell Stokes spent Saturday through Monday in Eutaw with her daughter Trudi and Robbie Findley and Brooks and helped Brooks celebrate his 13th birthday. Happy Birthday Brooks!

John Courtney of Birmingham spent the weekend with his parents, Rex and Kay Courtney and other relatives. They attended the high school graduation of Breanna McCrory.

James Richard and Mary Ballard of Nicholsville hosted a covered dish meal at their home Sunday. There were about 80 relatives attending the Homecoming Services at Sweet Water Baptist Church and this family gathering.

Pat and Gaines Vick attended the little league baseball game in Livingston Tuesday afternoon that their grandsons Tyler and Lane Cobb played in and won.

Jim Russell and Barbara Quinney, Heather Glass and Joyce Dennis spent May 13-15 in Auburn attending graduation of Rebecca Quinney. They were joined in Auburn by Allan Hinson. Chuck and Carolyn Whitaker joined them Friday for graduation and Chip Whitaker joined them Friday night at Mikata’s for a celebration meal. Rebecca’s parents, Jim Russell and Barbara Quinney joined her at a reception Friday morning honoring the graduates in her field of Human Development and Family Studies. She will be working the summer session at Hardy’s Creative Child Care in Auburn.appy Bir
