UNION – There was more than music Friday night when the ABC Board collected crack rocks at Dr. Rocs.
Agents with the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board made four arrests on Friday night for crack cocaine during a routine check at Howard’s Place, also known as “Dr. Rocs” in Union.
Greene County Sheriff Johnny Isaac said the agents arrested four local men from the Greene County area during their bust drug-related charges. He also said this operation was strictly an ABC bust and that none of his men were involved in the arrests.
Agent Wes Brown with the ABC Board Tuscaloosa District said when he went into Dr. Rocs at 11:30 p.m., he was there checking for underage drinkers, but came out with some narcotics.
He also said these four arrests involved personnel from the Narcotics Division as well as the ABC Board Tuscaloosa District.
“Tommy Craig, Dennis Pebbles, Roderick Brown, and Terrance Wedgeworth were all arrested for their involvement in this bust,” Wes Brown said.
Brown said Craig’s nearly two ounces was enough to be arrested for possession of marijuana, first degree.
He said Pebbles was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and Roderick Brown was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and carrying a pistol without a permit.
“We found about three grams worth of crack cocaine during our search of both Pebbles and Roderick Brown,” Wes Brown said.
He said Wedgeworth was arrested for interfering with a government operation. About $3,000 was also confiscated from one of the individuals arrested.
“The arresting agents were Tom Montgomery, Steve Smith and myself,” Wes Brown said.
Isaac said all the four arrested remain the Greene County Jail pending bond hearings.
