The regular meeting of the West Alabama Mental Health Board is scheduled today at the Spring Hill Home located at 1300 Old Spring Hill Road in Demopolis. The public is invited to attend.

July 7

Onsite registration for second summer split term classes at Shelton State Community College will be held on Wednesday, July 7. This option is available for current, returning, transient and transfer students. Please call 205/391- 2900 or visit the Shelton State website at www.sheltonstate.edu to register. The first day of second summer split term classes is July 8 and classes end on August 10. The Arts Council of Thomasville will present “Nunsense”, a musical by Dan Groggin on July 9 and 10 at 7:00 p.m. and July 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomasville High School Cafetorium. The summer administration of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam and the High School Basic Skill Exam will be held July 19 – 23 at Demopolis High School’s auditorium on the following schedule: Monday: Social studies (AHSGE), Tuesday: Science (AHSGE), Wednesday: Mathematics (AHSGE and Exit), Thursday: Reading (AHSGE and Exit), Friday: Language (AHSGE and Exit). Testing will begin promptly at 8 a.m. each day. Tutoring for the graduation exam will also be held July 5-16 at DHS. For more information, call 289-0294.

Boys who will be in grades one through four in the fall are invited to take part in the Prairie District Day Camp sponsored by the Boy Scouts. The event will be held Saturday, July 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lions Park in Greensboro.
