Graveside services for Mrs. Jacqueline “Mama Jackie” Glass, 76, Demopolis died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at her residence. Graveside services will be at the Octagon Cemetery, Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. The Revs. David Moore and Doug Null will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors the day of the service from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon.
Mrs. Glass is survived by a daughter Ruth Gayle (Charles) Higginbotham of Selma; a son Butch (Wanda) Glass of Gallion; two brothers, Tom Walker and Floyd (Jeanette) Walker of York; and four grandchildren, Crystal Glass, Dawn Leys, Deramus Higginbotham, and Deranda Higginbotham.
Pallbearers include Edward Luker, Jeff Fields, Skip Fields, Frankie Fields, Pete Hall, Alfred Padilla, and Louie Padilla.
Mrs. Glass was a native of York and a resident of Demopolis since 1949. Mrs. Glass was a member of
Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. Glass enjoyed working with children where she had served as a worker in the nursery at Fairhaven Baptist Church and kept children in her home for over 40 years.
Mrs. Glass was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Glass, Sr.; Grandson Chelsa Glass; four sisters: Berteal W. Christian, Bessie W. Sharpe, Vera W. McIlain, and Ruth W. Hitt, and a brother Joseph L. Walker. Kidd Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is in charge of arrangements.
