Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor:
I can no longer keep quiet as instructed by my attorney because of the continued media attention that I am receiving in regard to the bogus invoices. Physical evidence has been made available that will prove that I did not construct the bogus invoices nor was I aware of their existence.
I admit having a kind heart and willing to help can be misleading, which can be devastating. This incident involved trying to help youth with no criminal intent. I am proud that I have been blessed to involve myself in the lives of many families and youth in Marengo County.
Twenty-five dedicated years as Juvenile Officer
Fifteen years as volunteer with the City of Demopolis Recreation Department
Solving a murder case of a U.S. Postal Worker in Dayton, Ala.
Starting a Summer Food Program for youth in Marengo County in the 1980s
Organized the Marengo Family Resource Center
Securing funding for additional Juvenile Officer in Marengo
Served on a number of Boards in Marengo and others.
I am hoping that in the near future that the truth will be told and there will be closure for me to this nightmare.
I want to than my FAMILY and everyone for the many phone calls and prayers of support.
Edward Ward Jr.
