The incumbent Linden City Councilman for District 3 Howard Walters defeated his challenger Charlie “Kim” Howard by a mere 13 votes, but that’s still enough to put Walters back in as the councilman for one more four year term.

In the election, Walters received 67 of the total 121 votes (55 percent) and Howard received 54 of the total 121 votes (44 percent). Walters after learning of his narrow victory over Howard said, “I think some of the voters in my district got our names confused because the results were a little to close for comfort.”

He would like to thank all of the people who supported him during his campaign to keep his seat on the Linden City Council as well as his family and friends. He has some future plans for his district, but he wants the plans to be a surprise.

“I’m looking forward to serving the residents and getting back out in the district and starting on some new projects,” Walters said.
