Mr. Joe Louis Williams, age 63 of Riverdale, Georgia passed August 27, 2004 at Southern Regional Medical Center, Riverdale,Georgia.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Forkland. Rev. William M. Branch will officiate.

Interment will follow in Rose Chapel Cemetery, Forkland.

The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Willie I. Johnson

Demopolis

Deacon Willie I. Johnson, age 86 of Demopolis passed August 24, 2004 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa. Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church,

Demopolis.

Rev. Harry Gaitor is the pastor.

Rev. Marvin Johnson officiated.

Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Johnson and five siblings.

Survivors include eight daughters, Alice (Richard) Alford, Los Angeles, CA, Willia M. Johnson, Demopolis, Allean (Clinton) Bailey, Huntsville, Bettie J. Hunter, Birmingham, AL, Flora J. Johnson, Demopolis, Patricia (Frazier) Lewis, Jefferson, Martha (Charles) Chinakwe, Montgomery, Sonja (Edmund) Allen, Jackson, MS; two sons, Walter (Joyce) Johnson&Rev. Marvin (Rhondalyn) Johnson, Demopolis; one sister, Sarah P. Hildreth, Norristown, PA; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; two devoted nieces, Debra M. Waters&Youlanda Woods, Demopolis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Michael A. Coats

Forkland

Mr. Michael A. Coats, age 38 of Forkland passed August 26, 2004 at his residence after being mortally injured by a horse. Mike had a great admiration for horses.

He devoted many leisure hours training horses and horse back riding throughout the community.

He was a 1985 graduate of Paramount High School, Boligee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Coats and brother, Eli Coats.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving&devoted mother, Mrs. Earline Coats of Forkland; two children that he cherished as his own, Michael&Gwendolyn; four sisters, Patricia (Earnest) Edmonds, Leola (Mose) Jones& Mary (Johnny) Butler of Forkland, and Para (Odell) Davis, Demopolis; seven brothers, Jacob Coats, Atlanta, GA, Rev. Eddie (Melonee) Coats, Sr., Demopolis, Willie (Mary) Coats, Birmingham, Councilman Roosevelt (Shirley) Coats&Charlie Moore, Cleveland, OH, Rev. Hence (Elizabeth) Coats, Dayton, OH,&Jewel Shaw, Detroit, MI; six aunts, Venolia Armstead, Forkland, AL, Bettie Ezell, Julia Waller, Lula (Willie) Trainer, Mahalia (Wilbert) Paige, all of Mobile,&Ada Miller, Buffalo, NY; two uncles, Wilson Coats, Dayton, OH&Clarence (Eliza) Haywood, Belvedere, IL; seven nieces, fourteen nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
