Titans fall, 22-6, to Sumter Aca.

The West Alabama Prep Titans PeeWee football team fell 22-6 to the Sumter Academy Eagles on Tuesday night in Demopolis.
The Eagles led in the affair 22-0 at halftime, only to give up a single touchdown by Matthew Sellers in the fourth quarter of the game.
Sellers took the handoff and ran 88-yards for the lone Titans touchdown with 5:27 left in the fourth quarter to trim the Eagles lead to 22-6.
With 5:39 remaining in the first quarter, the Eagles’ Daniel Sturdivant ran in a 65-yard touchdown and also converted the 2-point conversion to put his team on top 8-0.
With 2:44 left in the first half, the Eagles’ Corey Guin took the ball 6-yards for a touchdown run, and again Sumter Academy converted the 2-point conversion and a 16-0 lead.
With only :07 ticks remaining in the first half, Guin took a 38-yard pass from Sturdivant for the touchdown.
After failing on the 2-point conversion, the Eagles led 22-0.
For WAP, the team had 63 total yards rushing.
Sellers led in rushing with 12 carries for 101 yards.
Ethan Green had one carry for one yard.
In the passing game for the Titans, Caswell Compton went 4-for-5 for 63 yards.
In the receiving department, Green led the Titans with three catches for 50 yards and Corey Sorrells had one catch for 13 yards.
The Eagles offense had a total of 242 yards compared to the 142 yards for the Titans.
