Mrs. Amelia Hale, age 85 of Livingston, AL entered into eternal rest peacefully on September 6, 2004 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 11 A.M. at the Shady Grove Baptist Church, Livingston, AL.

Rev. John Powell is the pastor and Rev. L.C. Eatman, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 10 A.M.

Eastern Star Hour will be held Friday evening beginning at 6 P.M. at Larkin&Scott Chapel.

Her husband, Lawyer Hale, Sr., three children, baby boy Hale, Mack Hale, and Willie Mae Hudson all preceded her in death.

Survivors include five sons, Percy Hale&George (Jerry) Hale, Livingston, AL, Lawyer (Mary) Hale, Cleveland, OH, Joseph (Helen) Hale, Southfield, MI, Leon (Patricia) Hale, Detroit, MI; six daughters, Patricia (Ernest) Green, Veronica (Walter) Adams, Detroit, MI, Mary (Samuel) Pace, South Euclid, OH, Sarah (Lafayette) Turner, Ellenwood, GA, Amelia (Arthur) Brown, Calumet Park, IL&Cynthia (James) McTier, Montgomery, AL; three grandchildren reared as her own, Ronald (Nancy) Gray, Ellenwood, GA, Jesse (Kim) Bell, Demopolis, AL&Michael Gray, Livingston, AL; one daughter in law, Catherine Hale, Livingston, AL; one brother, Percy (Lovie) Bivins, Akron, OH; one sister in law, Maggie Hale, Birmingham, AL; 4 stepsons, 36 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

George Larry Neal

Demopolis

Mr. George Larry Neal, age 41 of Demopolis, AL passed September 3, 2004 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 1 P.M. at the New Morning Star Baptist Church, Demopolis, AL.

Rev. Melvin Perry will officiate.

Interment will follow in the St. Matthew Watson Cemetery, Boligee, AL.

The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 12 noon.

Georgia Flood, age 60 of Greensboro, AL passed September 5, 2004 at Hale County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 12 noon at the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Greensboro, AL.

Visitations will be held Friday afternoon, September 10, 2004.

Rev. Carlier Agnew, pastor of Greenleaf Baptist Church, Greensboro, AL will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hildred Johnson

Hildred Johnson, of Akron, AL entered into eternal rest on September 6, 2004 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 1 P.M. at the Friendship Baptist Church, Akron, AL.

Visitations will be held Friday at the funeral home from 12 noon until 6 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 12 noon until time of service.

Interment will follow at Sample Cemetery, Akron, AL.

Alberta Banks

Greensboro

Alberta Banks, of Greensboro, AL entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2004 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 12 noon at the Union Grove Baptist Church, Greensboro, AL.

Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 12 noon until 6 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 11 A.M. until time of service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Eleanor Foscue Bird

Linden

Funeral services for Miss Eleanor Foscue Bird, age 74 of Linden, AL, will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 11, 2004 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Forkland, AL with Rev. Dan Thornton officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Demopolis, AL.

The family will receive friends Saturday at the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

Miss Bird died at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden.

She leaves to cherish her most precious memories 2 brothers, Mafus Rhodes Bird of Birmingham, AL and James Whitfield Bird of Forkland, AL, 2 nieces and 4 nephews, Thomas W. Bird, James W. Bird Jr., Mafus R. Bird Jr., Grace Bird Snead, Avery Bird Schaible, and Archie M. Bird.

Pallbearers will be Thomas W. Bird, James W. Bird Jr., Mafus R. Bird Jr., Archie M. Bird, Brandon Snee, and Rudy Parker.

Miss Bird lived in Birmingham most of her life and them moved to Epps and Red Level with her father.

She had been a resident of Marengo County for the past 15 years.

Miss Bird previously attended the West Alabama day care center, where the green house for the patrons’ use was built and dedicated in her honor.

Flowers can be sent in lieu of West Alabama Mental Health for Bird House P.O. Box 260 Demopolis, AL 36732.

Edward L. Vaughn

Demopolis

Funeral services for Mr. Edward L. Vaughn, age 70 of Demopolis will be held 3 P.M. Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Fairhaven Baptist Church in Demopolis.

Mr. Vaughn passed away Thursday at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the Vaughn Cemetery in Jefferson, AL with Kidd-Robbins funeral directors in charge of all arrangements.
