LINDEN – The George P Austin Junior High Patriots remained undefeated on the year with a 14-0 victory over the Bobcats of Paramount High School on Tuesday night in Linden. The Patriots, now 2-0 on the year played only their second game this year because their last game was a blowout literally due to Hurricane Ivan against the Livingston Cougars. The scoring didn’t start until after halftime when #22 L.K. Rogers rumbled two yards for the first seven points of the night.
The Patriots defense remained strong the whole night thanks to defensive standouts Kendall McIntosh and Chris Olds.
In the final quarter of action, the tight end #80 Kendarius Goodwill was on the receiving end of a 10 yard TD pass from the quarterback #10 Ajalon Bruno.
The Patriots still have three games left on this season and hope to remain perfect on the gridiron. The young G.P.A. Patriots look promising to one day graduate and become welcomed additions on the Linden High Patriots.
The Patriots will try and reschedule the lost game with Livingston High School because they play them one more time anyway. They still have to face the Bobcats a second time in a couple of weeks because of the lack of schools in the area.
