Sumter Eagles soar

The Sumter Academy Eagles soared onto the field and quickly scored on the East Memorial Wildcats.
With 10:41 remaining in the first quarter, Hunter Spidel handed the ball off to Chad Bryan, who took the ball 56-yards for the touchdown and a 7-0 Eagles lead.
With 5:52 left in the first quarter, the Eagles’ Cole Dial scored on a 2-yard run to increase the Sumter Academy lead to 13-0.
Bryan added another rushing touchdown with 3:55 remaining in the first quarter on a 40-yard run to bring the lead to 20-0.
Bryan scored again with 3:13 left in the first quarter to bring the Sumter Academy lead to 27-0.
In the second quarter, the Eagles’ Joseph Reed scored on a 1-yard run with 8:17 remaining to increase the lead to 34-0.
With 5:10 left in the second quarter, Bryan had a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown to bring the Sumter Academy lead to 41-0.
The Eagles would tack on another score with 3:54 left in the third quarter when Dial had a 7-yard run.
After the extra point attempt was no good, Sumter Academy sat on a 47-0 lead.
East Memorial would finally get on the board with 8:56 remaining in the game when Cody Parks took the ball in seven yards for a touchdown run.
The two-point conversion failed and the Eagles ended up walking away with a 47-6 blowout victory over the Wildcats.
