University of West Alabama holds annual HR derby

LIVINGSTON – The University of West Alabama held its annual Home Run Derby on Sunday, Oct. 31.

Jonathan Lindsey, a senior first baseman from Mobile, Ala., won the derby with six home runs in the Championship Round.

Every participant received 10 outs in the first round with the top ten advancing to round two: The round two participants were:Rob Dahlberg (FR, Gilbertown, Ala.), Brent Bolden (SO, Pelham, Ala.), Clint Moody (FR, Demopolis, Ala.), Matthew Creighton (Jr, Quitman, Miss), Damon Brabson (Jr, Miami, Fla.), Dustin Roberts (Jr, Demopolis, Ala.), Lewis Bradford (SR, Forest, Miss.), Ryan Taylor (SR, Water Valley, Miss.), Jonathan Lindsey (SR, Mobile, Ala.), Lee Boyd (SR, Columbus, Miss.) and Seth Lofton (SR, Brookhaven, Miss.).

The top five from round two received five outs and a chance to advance to the third round. Lindsey, Dahlberg, Roberts, Lofton and Bolden were the top five.

From there, the top three went to the Championship Round, where they received ten outs each.

Lindsey, Dahlberg and Lofton were the finalists.
