GULF SHORES – The Demopolis Lady Tigers softball team took care of business in the bottom of the sixth inning, plating five runs to rally in a come-from-behind fashion after being down 4-0.

The Lady Tigers defeated Brewbaker Tech 5-4 last night to get things started on the right foot in Gulf Shores.

Brittany McGee picked up the win for DHS, pitching a complete game and giving up four runs on nine hits, no walks and two strikeouts.

Molly Barnes got things started for the Lady Tigers in the sixth inning, knocking down a single to begin the rally.

Hunter Lewis was on base on a fielder’s choice as she advanced to second on Barnes’ single.

Mallory Henderson then stepped up and plated a run on an RBI single, followed by a two-run RBI single by Stewart Gross.

That cut the lead to 4-3 and the Lady Tigers were not about to stop there.

Dorothy Knapp stepped to the plate and was walked before Brittany McGee stepped to the plate and drove in the game-tying run on an error.

Brittany Thorne followed by plating the game-winning RBI as the girls calmly took care of the final three outs in the top of the seventh inning.

The DHS girls’ continued action last night and will be playing throughout the afternoon in Gulf Shores.
