O. Edd Billingsley
Memorial services for Mr. O. Edd Billingsley will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Wilkinson officiating. Friends who will give the eulogy are Don Downs and Bobby Dale Ezell.
Mr. Billingsley, 66, of York, died Sunday, March 20, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian, Miss. He is survived by his wife, Annette S. Billingsley of York; two daughters, Laurel (Al) Mattox of Opelika and Carole (Ashley) Welborn of Livingston; mother Nell Billingsley of Ft. Myers, Fla.; sister, Claire (George) Reid of N. Ft. Myers, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Anna, Sara and Blake Welborn.
Mr. Billingsley served as the investigator for the District Attorney’s office, the Sumter County Coroner, and a County Commissioner. He worked with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department, was an avid hunter, and a member of York Baptist Church. Special persons attending the memorial will be members of law enforcement whom he worked with over the years. Bumpers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
