Lady Tigers grabs 19-1 victory over Dallas County

PLANTERSVILLE – The Demopolis High School Lady Tigers slammed home a 19-1 victory over Dallas County on Wednesday night on the road.

Brittany McGee (10-4) picked up the win for DHS, giving up no hits, no walks, and eight strikeouts.

The Lady Tigers also knocked in a school-record four triples in Wednesday night’s game on the road.

Dorothy Knapp picked up one of the triples and also had a single and a double with two RBI.

India Chancelor added two triples and a single with two RBI while Brandi McGee picked up the final triple with two RBI.

Also contributing for DHS was Hunter Lewis, who had three hits with two RBI, and Molly Barnes and Stewart Gross, who both picked up RBI singles.

“We hit the ball real well tonight,” DHS head coach Wayne Harris said.

“We hit several balls to the fence and when we had runners in scoring position, we hit the ball right up the middle and scored.”

With the win, DHS moves to 16-12 on the season as they currently sit at No. 8 in Class 4A.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Friday for the Lincoln Tournament to be held in Tennessee this weekend.
