Lady Tigers hit two-game skid after win streak

PRATTVILLE – The Demopolis High School Lady Tigers lost two games yesterday on the road to bring their seven game win-streak to a stop, falling 6-5 to Prattville and losing 5-0 against Mountain Brook.

In game one against Prattville, Sara Davis picked up the loss, coming in for relief in the seventh inning and pitching the final three frames.

Davis allowed one hit and one run through three innings as the Lady Tigers fell by one run on the road.

After allowing a single in the ninth inning, Prattville stole second base and third base before plating the winning run on a wild-pitch by Davis.

Leading the way offensively in game one was India Chancelor, who picked up two hits, and Dorothy Knapp, who also picked up two hits and an RBI.

Molly Barnes and Mallory Henderson each contributed with RBI singles.

In game two, Davis again picked up the loss, pitching a complete game on eight hits, five walks and a strikeout.

In the Lady Tigers 5-0 loss to Mountain Brook, the girls did not have a single hit, as they were shutout to bring their overall record to 24-19.

Demopolis returns to the field this afternoon at home as they host Jackson with a scheduled start time of 4 p.m.

The varsity team will play first followed by the junior varsity team.
