At this time, Southern Academy is planning to go with Jake Johnston (5-3, 4.45 ERA) as their starting pitcher in game one, with Thomas Langham (7-1, 3.60) starting game two.

Jon Ray is the scheduled starter for the Chargers in game one.

“All I know about Ray is that he is about 6’5″, 225, and throws an 88 mile-per-hour fastball,” Cougars head coach Steve King said.

The action begins this afternoon, but the celebration began yesterday for Southern Academy, as they held a pep-rally last night to honor both the Cougars baseball and softball teams for successful seasons.

For the Lady Cougars, postseason play begins on Friday in Montgomery, where Southern Academy will face Shelby Academy in round one, game one at 10 a.m.

The Lady Cougars also finished 9-1 in their area and with a game one win, they will play again in the best-of-three series at 3 p.m. on Friday.

With a game one loss, Southern Academy will play game two at 1 p.m.
