DEMOPOLIS – It looks as though Devin Goodwin, Seth Basinger, and Chad Schroeder will not be ending their sports careers together after graduation from Demopolis High School.

All three seniors signed a two-year scholarship offer with Lurleen B. Wallace junior college yesterday morning at DHS.

“I’m proud for them and their families,” DHS baseball head coach James Moody said.

“It’s a defining moment in their careers and all three of them are very capable.

It’s a reward for their hard work and for all the long hours they put into the game when nobody else is around.”

Steve Helms, the LBW baseball head coach, actually spent two years at Huntington as Moody’s coach.

“Coach Helms has worked with Andalusia teams and he knew what our boys are capable of,” Moody said.

“It’s always a good feeling of satisfaction when a kid goes to the next level and plays and has school paid for.”
