West Alabama Prep seniors moving on and up

West Alabama Preparatory School ended a week of awards presentations Friday by handing out junior and senior high school honors. Students were honored for maintaining all A and B averages along with the President’s Academic Award and the President’s Citizenship Award.

Seventh grade winners included Madison Duckworth, who won the “A” trophy and President’s Academic Award and Caroline Tait, who won the President’s Citizenship Award and the A and B Certificate. Laura Kathryn Morgan also won an A and B certificate.

Eighth grade “A” Trophy award winners were Caty Cameron, Madison Poellnitz and Shelby Pearce. Poellnitz also won the President’s Academic Award and Pearce won the President’s Citizenship Award. Jacob Logan received an A and B certificate.

Freshman “A” trophy award winners included Katie Jennings, Callie LeCroy, John Paul McPherson, Katie Reeves and Christi Wilkinson. Wilkinson also won he President’s Academic Award. Tyler Baker won the President’s Citizenship Award as well as an A and B Certificate. Lauren Cameron also received an A and B certificate.

Sophomore A trophy winners were Meredith Gardner and Matthew Ray, Gardner also received the President’s Academic Award. A and B certificate recipients were Zack Pratt, Crystal Rogers and Aprile Hamilton.

The juniors rounded out the high school awards day with nine total winners. Daniel Logan and Kim Wilkinson were “A” trophy winners, while Alison Elmore, Elaine Jennings, Jackie Lewis, Clay Meyers and Wesley White received A and B certificates. Elmore took the President’s Citizenship Award and White took the President’s citizenship Award.

Tuesday, the elementary school held their awards ceremony with a hoist of winners. In the first grade Anna Kathryn Griffin, Ana-Kate Kilgore, Hanna Malone, Alyssa Edwards, Kendall Principe, Luke Yelverton, Lauren Cramer, Malorie Hall, Grant Madison, Anna Caroline Logan, Cal Logan, Ward Abrams and Melanie Campbell. Principe won the President’s Academic Award and Grant Madison won the President’s Citizenship Award. A and B certificate recipients for the first grade were Hunter Hewitt, Benjamin Vann, Grey Madison and Adam Sellers.

For the second grade class, “A” trophy winners were Wallace Tutt, Drake Holtzclaw, Sidney Moore, Spencer Martin and Tripp Perry. Perry also won the President’s Academic award, while Moore won the President’s Citizenship Award. A and B certificate winners were Josh Holifield, Matthew Trest and Caleb Holtzclaw.

For the third grade, “A” trophy winners were Brooke Reeves, Madelyn Couch, William Tutt, Charlie Parten, Paige Hall, Caitlin Andrews and Carolyne Baker. Parten won the President’s Academic Award and Andrews won the President’s Citizenship Award. A and b certificate winners were Wil Logan, Mackenzie Holtzclaw, Garret Edwards, Nicholas Vann and John Anthony Morrison.

Fourth grade “A” trophy winners were Kimberly Campbell, Strathon Wilson and Sydney Colyar. The fourth grade had three President’s Academic Award winners in Campbell, Wilson and Kinsey Haynes. Abby Green won the President’s Citizenship Award. Green was also a recipient of the A and B certificate along with Anna Stuart Cramer, Tanner Cox, McKenzie Cramer, Colton Dodd, Bradley Simmons, Haynes, Reesa Holifield, Anna Morgan Reynolds and Lauren Tait.

Fifth grade “A” trophy winners were Avery Duckworth, Gigi Perry and David Tutt. Perry won the President’s Academic Award and Taylor Polk won the President’s Citizenship Award. Polk was also a recipient of the A and B certificate along with Brittany McMahon, Olivia Leys and Kayley Cook.

Sixth grade “A” trophy winners were Lexi Meyer and Ethan Green. Meyer also won the President’s Academic Award and Jessica Poellnitz was the winner of the President’s Citizenship Award. Poellnitz also received an A and B certificate along with Sarah Martin Stapp, Chase Cameron, Andrew Logan, B.J. Webb, Caswell Compton and Matthew Sellers.
